Ikea Trip - Prints & Patterns

I had a look around Ikea yesterday to have alook at what is happening in interior textiles. Wasn t a huge amount of prints, but my favourite was this fabric above with the greens and pinks, (very 70's retro!)

Brighton Open Houses

Every year Brighton artists open there doors to the public and this year I thought it would be great to have a look to see what the competition is like and to meet some of the locals! We spent the weekend, wandering around the streets trying to locate each house.

The ones that stand out the most so far from Rottingdean and Kemp Town are-
• 16 Welesmere Road in Rottingdean (a must just to see for the amazing landscaped garden designed by Ann Frith),
• Jane Arkwright at the same address, we loved her wonderful use of colour on her mixed media paintings. .
• Pointless Rhino, Rottingdean, were fab, showing wonderful illustrations, http://www.pointlessrhino.com/
• Artists from Mash Up showing in Kemp town were particularly good, especially Natasha Kissell's surreal landscapes.
• Snooze Guest House, opened there doors to the public with recent graffiti mural's on their dining room ceiling , we will be recommending it to any friends coming to Brighton, to view the graffiti and to stay in the seventies retro suits with hilarious shag pile carpets and zebra print wall paper!
